Super-hero adjacent, but darker, little more graphic, and rougher language. But Spider-Noir was a fun ride. I commend you for putting in the effort to determine if it's right for you and your son without dismissing it immediately.

The least violent noir you'll see, probably. Mostly fisticuffs and super-power fighting. Some language, and some body-horror in later episodes. I can't remember anything remotely "sexual". The "TV-14" rating seems a bit harsh to me - my guess is the censors didn't like all the smoking.

I don't have a degree in psychology,so I can't speculate on the specifics. But I'd assume it's because you're human, and we all search for validation in one way or another. The comics/cartoon community places a lot of value in winning (or nomination for) Eisners. It's recognition from peers.
