OK. 2027 is the year I get back into flight simulators. Or I start painting Mid-Late Republican Roman miniatures. Or learn how to swordfight.

Night. The House of Chimes - a tower which you might immediately think of as Big Ben - is adrift in the River Thames. It still seems to be keeping time. In the background, a large, alien building looms over the city of London.

In the history of Canadian sport, this is The Event. Endlessly retold and revisited and recycled. I've probably seen Henderson's goal more times than any other sporting moment, and I wasn't even a year old when it happened. Not sure watching this would explain Why We Are This Way, but can't hurt.

If I’m reading this correctly, Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford’s campaign is asking volunteers to give them full access to their contact lists on their *personal* cell phones? www.nationalobserver.com/2026/09/28/i...
'You don't need to freak out about this'
Introducing Bradford's supporters to the app on the Zoom call, Punia instructed them to give the app permission to access all of their contacts.

"Do not give it partial contact ability, give it full. And what I want to say to you guys here is, you don't need to freak out about this," said Punia. He reassured them that only contacts they marked as known or potential Bradford supporters would be given to the campaign.

One attendee hesitated as she had over 2,400 contacts on her phone. She was instructed to give the app access to all of them and mark them one by one according to their level of support for Bradford.

I recorded my roles in Nighthawks about 3 years ago- I’m not currently working with @wadjeteyegames.com but because I am “Wadjacent” I sometimes get messages like this:
An image of a text discussion in Facebook Messenger. It reads:
Dave: Walking past Janet’s desk while she is testing nighthawks and just heard your voice say “Have fun partying with the vagina spiders.”
How can you not be a fan after that
Sally: only accent aficionados will know how hard it is to do an American accent on those two words.
Dave: When you need someone to say “vagina spiders” you call a professional.

Hyper-fast acceleration is dangerous as well as pointless. As I wrote in 2024, the 0-to-60 metric is outdated and needs to die. No driver on a public road needs to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 8 seconds. Even the slowest car on the market is more than quick enough.
fastcompany.com
How fast can a car go from 0 to 60? It really doesn't matter
The auto industry has pushed this metric for decades. But cars—especially EVs—are so fast that comparing the decimals is pointless and dangerous.

Jays fans sound very happy, cheering the end of this game, but maybe we are all glad to put this dismal season behind us. We were lucky last year, unlucky this year, and maybe 2027 everything will make more sense.
