I streamed the first hour of Nighthawks for Mikey last night, and the first "companion" character we met was a dude who can only be described as "sketchy vampire Tim Curry." He immediately invited us to his bookstore, which has a basement were he does rituals with the cult he formed around himself.

So, I finished Nighthawks. And I must say that it can definitely hold its own in the fight with VtMB for "best vampire game". One of the three games I played in the last years that shine with passion and soul their creators put into it. IDK what else to say right now, go play it, the price is fair.

First play of #Nighthawks and #ThousandHells. ☺️ The latter has ultrawide monitor support! 👍 Both very engaging narratives from the off. 😎 I see lots of replayability in both titles, not just from choices made, but character traits and Hells’ randomiser option too. ☺️

UPDATE: All I can say is that Nighthawks is full of surprises, and what ultimately happened in the resolution to this plotline was something I never would have guessed! I'm closing in on the end of the game and appreciate the respect it has for its characters. Not everyone's amoral, which is good!

Well, I just went through all four endings of Nighthawks! (The not-so-obvious "forget it, I'm outta here" ending is the one I liked the best.) Great game overall. It's simple mechanically, but well-done and quite engaging. I'll likely move on to other topics, but this game's definitely worth it.

I still remember the dark days of the mid 00s, when adventures were rare and Blackwell hoved into view like a lighthouse. Also the attendant horrors of whatever digital delivery platform it was back then😅 Seeing this 20 years later, on Steam, would have seemed fantastical back then. Amazing.

I finished my first playthrough of Nighthawks and got only 69% of the achievements on gog. Guess another round is in order. Which is not that big a sacrifice as the game is really, really good.

I've finally reached the point in Nighthawks where I get a shot at Maze, a seemingly benign narcissist who's started a vampire cult in the basement of his antique bookstore. He's an early ally and not the villain, but he's easily one of the biggest monsters in the game! Can't wait to take him down.
