It's not the first time Eric Schmitt has pursued... unusual leads. In 2022, I read 8,000 pages (!) of emails of people responding to his snitchline seeking cases of "illegal" school COVID protections he could sue over. Schmitt treated it as a win, even as it caused chaos in Missouri schools.

That's the entire point of most insurance - a lot of people pay in more than they use (and the "young invincibles" often don't use any at all, not to mention people who can't afford days off for a regular doctor's checkup) and others use more than they pay in. It's the only way insurance works.
