I’ve been a Nintendo gamer for 35 years, since age 2. I’ve been a PlayStation gamer for 23 years, since age 14. I’ve been a XBOX gamer for 22 years, since age 15. I’ve always played on all consoles from 2004 onwards. Unless things change, PS6 will be my first skip in decades.

I keep seeing posts about people wanting to sell their PS5 and get a Switch 2 or Xbox instead. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend that. Keep the 5 for cross gen Playstation exclusives and just move to Switch 2 or Helix as your main next gen. So late in the current gen, it’s not worthwhile.

If you’re ever on the fence about buying a game on the Nintendo eshop during a sale, make damn sure you don’t decide to purchase it at the actual last minute. Because of how Nintendo handles purchases, you may wind up with $41.99 in wallet funds and no game, if the sale ends during transaction.

If these still use PSlink tech, avoid at all cost. Garbage tech with a ridiculously high failure rate. Hopefully these use the same wireless tech as the original pulse 3D, with the sound quality of the pulse elites. The elites sounded great, but the PSlink dongle was straight trash.

If you want to play something, don’t let other people’s opinions dictate whether you do or not. If reviews and word of mouth make you hesitant, it’s totally fine to wait for a sale or for the game to drop on a subscription service, but don’t write it off entirely.

When it comes to buying multi-platform games at or near full price, my decision making process boils down to: Does it have bleeding edge graphics? Yes, get on PC. If no, is it Xbox Play Anywhere? Yes, get on Xbox. If no, is it PS5 pro enhanced? Yes, get on PS. If no, go Switch 2, every time.

Really seems like the move going forward will be to have a Switch 2 and then either a Xbox Helix or mid to high end PC. PlayStation just seems bound and determined to drive away all of the actual gamers from their platform, which will eventually cause the casuals to leave too.

Since around the Wii era, it’s been incredibly common for people to use a PlayStation, Xbox, or PC as their main system and have the Nintendo console as a secondary device. Honestly think those days are fading fast. The Nintendo Switch 2 IS the main device. The best games are on the Switch 2.

Ocarina of Time is such a special game for me. I got it for my 10th birthday in 1999, three months prior to having my second open heart surgery. This game was a sort of sanctuary during my recovery period, when I couldn’t go to school or play outside.

After looking at my physical backlog across all three console platforms, I’ve noticed that my PlayStation and Xbox stacks are almost exactly equal, while my Switch backlog is basically equal to both combined.
