It's not the first time Eric Schmitt has pursued... unusual leads. In 2022, I read 8,000 pages (!) of emails of people responding to his snitchline seeking cases of "illegal" school COVID protections he could sue over. Schmitt treated it as a win, even as it caused chaos in Missouri schools.

People in St. Louis are sadly used to waiting on 911 calls to respond. As an example of active measures to improve things, Mayor Spencer pointed to "dispatch infrastructure improvements." She's referencing a consolidated 911 center -- fire, police and EMS. But it won't be open until next year.

Hoskins tried, but failed, to get the Missouri Supreme Court to stay its ruling on Friday. The court criticized the GOP official for pushing off making a decision on the referendum until the last day. “I think it's something that the U.S. Supreme Court should consider,” Hoskins said.
