Hey leftists, it’s ok to discuss disagreements about strategy, but if you say people who take COVID precautions: - are too scared to leave the house - demand that everyone wear a mask 24/7 - are terrified of a just a "cold" You are using far right anti-science talking points.

This is what it really comes down to. Masks are a reminder the pandemic isn’t over. 🔹COVID is airborne 🔹Each infection carries cumulative risk 🔹Long COVID has no cure 🔹The pandemic isn’t over 🔹Wearing a mask is still one of the best ways to protect yourself and others Stay informed. Stay safe.
Three-panel meme showing a woman speaking and a man listening from behind a wall. In the first panel, she says “Masks don’t work,” and the man replies “Be honest.” In the second, she says “I don’t want to wear one,” and he again says “Be honest.” In the final panel, she says “I just don’t wanna be reminded of the scary pandemic,” and the man responds, “Thank you.”

By Gilly @profesh_baby: "Wearing an N95 mask (or better!) is the easiest way to protect yourself and everyone around you. It's an act of solidarity." Source: x.com/profesh_baby...
Illustrated, board-game-style poster about mask-wearing and COVID-19, designed like a Monopoly board with a pale green background, orange borders, and hand-drawn text. In the centre is a large yellow square reading: “WEARING A MASK IS THE EASIEST WAY TO MAKE A DIRECT, POSITIVE IMPACT ON YOUR COMMUNITY.” Below it is a smaller card that reads: “NOT WEARING A MASK? IT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO CAUSE DIRECT HARM TO EVERYONE AROUND YOU.” Dice, a house, cards, and game tokens are scattered around the board to reinforce the board-game theme.

Across the top are panels saying “DON’T GET COVID,” “IT BREAKS CHAINS OF INFECTION,” “MASK UP! BECAUSE,” “YOU ONLY HAVE ONE BODY,” and “DON’T SPREAD COVID.” Down the left side are boxes stating “KILLING AND MAIMING OTHERS IS BAD,” “IT PROTECTS EXTRA VULNERABLE GROUPS LIKE KIDS AND THE ELDERLY,” “IT MAKES YOU A MORE EFFECTIVE ALLY TO THOSE IN NEED,” “COVID SPREAD IS CLASS WARFARE,” and “MEDICAL BILLS ARE EXPENSIVE.” The bottom left corner reads “PROTECT OTHERS.”

Along the right side are messages including “IT’S A GOOD DISGUISE AT PROTESTS,” “IT PROTECTS YOU FROM FLU, COLDS, ETC.,” “THERE IS NO CURE FOR LONG COVID,” “IT’S A PATIENTS’ RIGHTS ISSUE,” “IT MAKES YOU MORALLY CONSISTENT,” and “IT’S A PRISONERS’ RIGHTS ISSUE.” The bottom right corner reads “PROTECT YOURSELF.”

Along the bottom are additional panels stating “IT’S A WORKERS’ RIGHTS ISSUE,” “COVID DISPROPORTIONATELY HURTS MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES,” and “IT’S A DISABILITY RIGHTS ISSUE.” The overall tone is persuasive and educational, emphasizing that wearing a mask is a simple action with broad social, ethical, and health benefits, while not wearing one causes harm.

Emily Mendenhall’s new book, Invisible Illness — which promises a history of poorly understood chronic conditions — fails to convey the severity of infection-associated chronic conditions, demands for treatment, or importance of infection prevention. bit.ly/3MO4BGZ
A graphic displays the 5th century BCE marble relief art “Ascelpius or Hippocrates treating and ill woman”. In the scene, a man touches the shoulder of a woman lying down as four other people stand by and watch. The text reads, “The Sick Times. “Invisible Illness” could have been transgressive. Instead, it minimizes Long COVID. The book fails to convey the severity of infection-associated chronic conditions, demands for treatment, or importance of infection prevention. By Shielding Cournoyer.”While certain factors increase risks, infections disable the able-bodied, too. Denying that fact means placing public health failures on the bodies of disabled people. Public health is off the hook if the problem is never one infection, but always, instead, “You’re kind of a hot mess.”
