Trapped in editing hell, I've a decolonial dyslexic itch: in my next novel, I will butcher the English language - on purpose. That instead of who, lesser instead of further, semi colon instead of comma, lots of fragmented sentences etc. Take that, colonisers' language. And your boring punctuation!

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

I didn’t get names but other people interviewed on the radio stated clearly this is a lethal decision. Residents are there for renal treatment, respiratory illnesses, and safety from family violence. If people stay, police will use “move on orders” to lock them up, which is also life threatening.

Looking at photos and clips from last night's lit award in Canberra, there's no kuffiyehs worn on stage or in audience. Not even subtle watermelon badges or jewellery. Even by writers who've been donning one for past 3 years. Interesting. Coincidence or banned? Or just selective sharing of photos?

Currently reading a translation of Geetanjali Shree's Tomb of Sand. This novel probably fits my Difficult & Dangerous, Weird & Wonderous model. So of course I'm loving it. 731 pages of tiny font - this will really challenge my shrinking attention span
