Has any line encapsulated the weird US-UK co-production of Ted Lasso more than a Bristolian football steward saying “Used Kleenex? Lush.”? Like, how do you know to use “lush” but not that no-one in the UK ever calls a tissue a Kleenex?

From 13 years ago where I was playing Draw Something 2 on the iPad. You had to draw something for a prompt and then you were randomly paired with someone online who had to guess. The person guessed "BIRDGUY" and then "BIRDGOI" and then gave up.
A very good drawing of what is clearly BIG BIRD

I don’t read the Economist but can give some pretty good financial advice. Make them share (“one between two” as they’d say at school) and save… ::tries sums:: at least £40.

Pluto is quite a cool free TV app that offers a lot of variety at any one time through dip in dip out streams. For instance, there are three (3!) different episodes of Rookie Blue on at this very moment. Rookie Blue season 2, Rookie Blue season 3, Rookie Blue season 4: all the genres!

Finally, here's the famous graphic that was made by the TNG art department (Okuda I think) to convey the true scale of the Enterprise-D to the writers by overlaying its outline on a map of the Paramount lot.

I’ve started reading silver age Aquaman, which is just disposable gag short stories so far, but man, Ramona Fradom could draw. Love how smug Aquaman looks here, undercover in the navy.
Two navy guys look confused around a stack of crockery. A third guy (secretly Aquaman) looks smug as hell.
Dialogue:
There are thousands of these greasy dishes! We’ll never get them clean in time!
Relax boys… I’ve got the best kitchen detail in the world.

Of all the pieces of technological dystopian literature that gets brought up in reference to current AI stuff the one that I think of a lot and needs mentioning more is Vaughan and Martin’s The Private Eye.

“No-one knows what a good or bad idea is until you try it”, claims the voice over on Homes Under The Hammer. Yet I could quite confidently claim many things are bad ideas without trying them. Like peeing into the mouth of a wild crocodile. Though feel free to test that if you don’t believe me, HUTH.

Weirdly, Hard West II has made me think a lot about my beloved Freedom Force (which also has a ragtag bunch of weirdoes with wildly different power sets). It's almost impossible, but I'd love to see a Freedom Force 3 done in the same style as this, rather than RTS.

I did the penultimate mission (I think) of Hard West II (a weird west X-Com alike) this evening and it took me nearly three hours. Mentally draining and hard as hell, fittingly, I suppose.

The stupid thing about lists like this is that they never look beyond scripted shows (and sometimes not even beyond drama). Only Connect and Taskmaster are better than half the stuff here.

I like how in Dogtanian, most of the main characters are shown at one point or another to be wearing full body tights the same colour as their fur, to prove that Dogtanian isn’t Winnie the Poohing it half-naked all the time. And presumably to imply that he does have genitals.

Jaret LeMaster (born June 17, 1979) is a Los Angeles-based audiobook narrator and voice-over artist, best known for appearing in almost sixty episodes of The Babylon Bee Podcast. He also has producer credits for such short films as College Figures Out How to Discriminate Now That Affirmative Action Is Banned, Satan Asks Democrats to Tone Down All the Evil, and Homeschool Family Visits Woke Library, the latter presumably inspired by his four homeschooled sons and his other job as a worship pastor. Cool.

Pompeii is a UNESCO world heritage site not because it was remarkable in its prime, but because it survived to our era untouched: one moment, preserved for all time. But future generations won't know what OUR world was like unless we do the same. This is why we MUST bury Toronto with a volcano

"hosting one of my guy friends this weekend too. i have no idea how many beers to provide a 27 year old man. 20? 100? i feel like nasa with the tampons."

Below the tweet is an image of the alien Commander Tamok from Star Trek: The Next Generation looking upward with a open-mouthed expression, styled like a meme with bold white impact font text overlaid across the bottom reading:
"NASA, WITH THE TAMPONS."

Unsure about Mad Professor Mariarti. I was too young to really get it (not that it seems that good anyway) but I did appreciate that it has a TARDIS hidden in it.
Grid of 9 games that "shaped who I am". MechCommander, Freedom Force, The Curse Of Monkey Island, Simon The Sorcerer, Mad Professor Mariarti, Mega Man X, Metroid II, Super Smash Bros and Donkey Kong Country.

Photography of a blond barbarian man (200x He-Man from the MotU Origins Cartoon Collection) holding a silver staff atop which is a green hologram of an owl thing (Leoric's power staff of Wisdom from the original Visionaries toy line).

this 1922 new york times story on hitler, over 100 years later, is like the poster child for why you don't just accept spin from people you have access to as gospel when you're doing reporting.
But several reliable, well-informed sources confirmed the idea that Hitler's anti-Semitism was not so genuine or violent as it sounded, and that he was merely using anti-Semitic propaganda as a bait to catch messes of followers and keep them aroused, enthusiastic and in line for the time when his organization is perfected and sufficiently powerful to be employed effectively for political pur- poses.
