I've been immersed in research on Reconstruction in Lousiana and it's a very difficult truth to absorb that the white terrorist movement in the South was among the most successful terrorist movements in global history. Took 10 years but it won a total & complete victory through murder and atrocity.

crony contracts are bad! endless consultants are bad! the solution is state capacity. city engineers shouldn’t be writing rfps, they should be actually planning the projects. a city should have in-house construction workers to fill potholes and build bus shelters states should be doing the same

the way basketall does timeouts is genuinely so antiquated it feels like the 1960s on the court we have technology this should not be that fucking hard the officials should never be the potential point of error any coach/player/viewer should be able to within seconds check the status visually.
