it takes me that long just to fall asleep so I guess I'm just disqualified from naps forever 😔

Semi-related: There’s a concept we talk about in health care - particularly disability, mental health and aged care - known as Dignity Of Risk. Simply put, it’s about allowing someone opportunities to do things that might carry some degree of risk, and not coddle them bc of their age/disability.

NHK World just released a fascinating documentary about the 50 year history of Comiket. Definitely give it a watch before it is taken down on May 3rd. www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/... My favorite part has to be the moment where they show a guy selling doujinshi about baseball umpires. Love that guy.

anyway if you ever encounter a clothing item that doesn't fit you that's not a problem with your body, that's a problem with the clothing item. I've met clothes that didn't fit my *Barbies* growing up. and the answer wasn't to hate the dolls. it was to either alter the outfits or find new ones

I really like this article’s quoting a piece about Freudenberger’s conception of burnout as “loss of an ideal”. Burnout less as overload from doing unpleasant work and more as social disaffection from loss of shared ideals/meaning/purpose with one’s professional employment/professional domain.

I'm a huge crank about how animated movies all just cast famous movie actors instead of professional voice actors now but there used to still be more of an art to it, The Lion King is almost all celeb voices but what movie now has the equivalent of casting Moira Kelly as the female lead

They also doubt themselves and human ability in general, like it wasn't built off of existing human work. "It writes better than I could" no it doesn't! "Well how could you do this without AI" the way we did for ages!! It's like myths about the pyramids happening in real time
