Like the pps are 5-1 Vegas and they also have a penalty shot and the refs don’t call a 5 just so they can review it? I’m convinced having a 0 iq is a requirement to officiate in the NHL. Beer league officials wouldn’t miss this - 100% wouldn’t.

In any non-clown sports league there’s some sort of mechanism where that OEL hit is reviewed and never missed lmao. Beer league refs with one less official some how never miss that lmao.

Well 2 would’ve been nice but I don’t hate that effort and coming away with 1.

Am I 100% sure? No but I think that’s pretty close to a 50/50 game over 60 minutes. I’m just plain very okay with that as your first road game against Vegas.

You can just see it with OEL - he wants to be that guy from 3-4 years ago where he was mildly good and a game changer. Just be that bottom 6 guy that makes the simple puck up ice guy like Stecher is. Tried to do too much behind the net there.

I get how insane this sounds because Stecher makes a million and OEL makes 4 but I think OEL is trying to play like this mid pair heavy defender when he probably just needs to play like Stecher to be pretty good at the role the Leafs need him for.

That 2nd period was awful but I think you gotta identify a team In game 5 that shows it wants to be more uptempo and play modern hockey having a bad 20 minutes after a 3 goal lead isn’t the same as a team that skated in mud for 60 games have a bad 2nd period.

It’s hard to put into words but there’s this very ‘Toronto’ brand of hockey player and there’s only a couple I’ve seen that embody it. Kadri and William Nylander. Again it’s tough to explain - Matthews/Marner/Tavares, great Leafs and we guys like em / lucky to have but they aren’t Toronto hockey.
