My pre-order of A Dubious Clamor by @marissalingen.bsky.social arrived, including (among other things) this very excellent sticker from @hornedlarkpress.com.
A circular sticker with a horned lark bird and a flower, with the words "Have a drink | Pet that dog | Read a book | Defy fascism" from a Horned Lark Press

Morning people: yep, looks like the ONE nibble is now ghosting. Going to Kevin's apartment today to start cleanout & get the cats, then we're bringing them here. They HAVE to stay closed in our bedroom, so they're safe for now, but one room is NO way to live the rest of their life. Please. SOMEONE.

My talk about how to give yourself accommodations at @edsguild.bsky.social Red Pencil Conference led to this Boundaries & Burnout Journal. You can watch the talk (www.edsguild.org/red-pencil-2...) and buy the journal (literarylaura.com/boundaries-b...) OR just treat yourself to a nap and a snack.
Do you need to give yourself better accommodations? You could...Watch a talk all about this from the red pencil conference (next to an image of the Northwest Editors Guild logo), buy the boundaries & burnout journal (next to an image of the journal’s cover), go take a nap & have a snack (next to some graphics of a red panda eating a watermelon and a person laying down, napping with their hands behind their head). literarylaura.com/boundaries-burnout-journal

The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. I'm just going to say a thing. What a person looks like is not reflective of their soul. Insulting the appearance of bad people who do bad things as an outcome or indication of their rotten hearts perpetuates the notion that conventional beauty = virtue, a myth that's led to untold human damage.

No thoughts, just Louisa May Alcott running #Dickinson
A still image from the TV series Dickinson that shows Zosia Mamet as Louisa May Alcott and Hailee Steinfeld as Emily Dickinson jogging across an open field with their skirts hitched up in their hands. It is winter and there are patches on snow on the ground. The caption says "In the time it takes to raise ONE baby, you can write FOUR or FIVE novels, and you can SELL those novels."
