up too late reading how CRY color was done on the atari jaguar. it's weird but TLDR; an 8-bit color lookup value and an 8-bit intensity. it stores intensity separately because that made it easy to do gouraud shading (you just interpolate Y between vertices.) at the end you do color * Y.

The "Tetris Theme" is probably a rite of passage for gamers learning music but I'm happy with how this turned out. No clue how far I'll go with music stuff but finally grasping some music theory has been enjoyable enough to make it worth the effort.

@polpo.org random thought. i've been tinkering with trackers and adding more MIDI stuff to my 486. now i'm wanting to buy a cheap midi controller and I wonder if the PicoGUS could use its usb port to interface with modern stuff that only does midi over usb (assuming they even use midi underneath)
