Terranigma for Nintendo Switch 2 is a NS2 edition, meaning it’ll play on original Switch and it’s not a GKC. Nice! LRG not doing a “classic edition” (like an SNES box) seems like a missed opportunity. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something like that later on as a convention exclusive.

My Mom, my daughter and her friend are going to see Resident Evil today and none of them have played a RE game, they’re just horror fans. It’s wonderful that something based on a video game franchise can appeal to more than just its built-in audience (my mom also enjoyed TLOU and is not a gamer).

It genuinely warmed my heart today to see a local Goodwill stocking CRTs! This is the same Goodwill I pleaded with a few years ago begging them to stop recycling them as they are desirable and have value. Thankfully someone there finally figured it out! Happy day!

I saw the Sonic 1 Up Arcade at Costco and it’s a shockingly lovely looking cabinet but the game selection is baffling and disappointing. These four games should’ve been BONUS titles. The actual Sonic arcade games would have made this cab very tempting. Sure, it can always be modded, but oof…

Keeping the original switch available as long as possible is smart business. Switch 2 is still too damn expensive for parents considering a first console for their children. Switch has an amazing library, so why not keep it accessible at as low a price point as possible for the indefinite future?

I got a repro Sega Saturn controller a couple days ago and like- Sega PERFECTED controller design for 2D games in '94, and NO ONE ELSE SINCE has been able to get EVEN CLOSE to what they did. Basically, I love it.
