It’s misleading that Richard E Grant gets equal billing in Hay Fever as Christine Baranski does much more work. But they both bring exactly the humour you‘d expect, ably assisted by a mostly cracking cast. It could do with more laughs but at a breezy two hours, there’s little to complain about

Emi Sakura's post about PAC is breaking my heart

The first time I spoke with him was in Ireland in 2018. When you're living in an English-speaking country, Japanese suddenly reaches your ears in a startling way. Our conversations always started with his "Otsukaresamade-su." Backstage, I wouldn't sense his presence at all, but then those words would arrive right by my ear like the wind. And so I'd search for him. There's no English phrase that translates it just right—its meaning encompasses hello, long time no see, glad to see you, good work, goodbye, good night, see you later, and all sorts of other things rolled into one. I think it's the kind of greeting that comes from the way he's confronted pro wrestling in Japan. It's time. As always, I grab my bag and climb into the car. I can't believe the show goes on. Today and from here on out, forever, I know I'll keep straining to listen. Thank you, PAC.

I saw (or heard) Tilda Swinton in a play tonight that the synopsis described as her ‘returning to, over 30 years since she originated the role’. I’ve since read that she starred in it in 1987, the year I was born. So I’ll spend the rest of my 39th year describing myself as simply ‘over 30’.
