#WildflowerHour Not quite aquatic, but these beautiful bellflowers were abundant along the River Kelvin in Glasgow today, Campanula spp. And as a bonus, the rowan that we thought was dead 7 years ago has made a fantastic recovery and is producing fruit for the first time since it revived. 💚

English commentators need to stop analysing Northern Ireland through an English lens! When you see anti-immigrant riots in Belfast, Ballymena or Larne and immediately reach for "Britain's far-right problem", you're missing half the story. This isn't just racism. It's loyalist terrorism. 1/

I’ve no doubt Murrell should be in jail, nor that the SNP internal checks and balances have fallen well short of what is expected. But there are far more serious cases that attract far less attention. The focus here is driven by one objective: damaging the independence movement. It won't work.

Isn't it odd* that the pro-Union media have barely mentioned (if at all) that the SNP won more seats than ALL of the unionist parties combined? #Scotland
The SNP has won 83% of Holyrood's constituency seats, with more MSPs than all the unionist parties combined.
The SNP and Scottish Greens together hold 73 seats, a record pro-indy majority.
If that's not a mandate to hold an independence referendum, what is?

Blossom time is flower mixture time! Here are some of the photos I took for #wildflowerhour (8-9pm UK time Sundays) last weekend but I've done my mixture thing on them... When it's raining 9 days out of 10, for months, a photographer has do SOMETHING. I do this. #art #photography #Scotland
It's abstract, made out of cherry-plum blossom and a dandelion flower, close up. The colours are dominated by the red-yellows of dandelion, but multicoloured flicks fly out from the central area of the image. The impressive is colourful and explosive. cherry-plum and cherry blossom mixed and colour edited into reds greens yellows. There are sometimes indistinct flowery forms. It's got a cottage/domestic feel, with a subtle explosive quality in the spotty dynamicthis really is mostly dandelion, the cherry-plum photo contributes confusion and compositional weight. Dynamic!
Wham bang dandy man.another dandelion and cherry-plum picture. One photo of the former, two of the latter. It's based around red and cyan, a potent colour mix which it happens, I am wearing myself today.
I do this stuff by dividing pictures up into channels, HSL and/or RGB, and then mix them back together with various arithmetical functions using layers. And colour edit again. And so on...
All in PaintShopPro which I've used since the early 1990s. It's a great program, but it hides it well.
