this afternoon at the edge of the Forth and Clyde #Canal it's Caltha palustris, the marsh-marigold. The flowering season is very short for these plants in Western Scotland but while they're here they're wonderful! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caltha_... for #wildflowerhour

a gang of marsh marigold flowers... they're like giant buttercups but absolute amateurs at the game of world domination compared to those buggers.
