As some models anticipated, north and northwest side of #Isaias seems worst as far as wind due to continued interaction with upper jet. Lots of 70 to 100 mph gusts from Pensacola up through Crestview. Recent gust to 99 mph at WeatherFlow site in Navarre, and Pensacola ASOS gusted to 92 mph.

Another update to this figure... showing all 11 track forecast cones for #Isaias as of Friday morning. There's a very focused 75-mile stretch of coastline that has been inside every cone so far. Landfall will be very near Pensacola FL around midnight tonight.

Last travel tournament of the "fall" season this wknd in Baton Rouge before school soccer starts. Looking forward to the travel break. The girls haven't lost a game, with a 10-0-1 record this fall, and 17-2-1 over their last 20 games. Honestly, some really good U14 girls soccer over the last year.

The tropical world have mostly been impressed with the AI models. Here, you can see NHC forecast (dots) on the far eastern edge of the physics models, but when you include the AI models the NHC track essentially goes right down the middle. The official forecast is leaning towards the AI guidance.

Meteorologists have gotten really good at predicting disruptive events like hurricanes, blizzards, and tornado outbreaks with precision only dreamed of 30 years ago. Hurricane track forecasting has improved so that a four-day forecast now is about as accurate as a one-day forecast was back in 1991.
