I wrote a short story from beginning to end today. It was very satisfying! It needs some revisions but I think I know where I am submitting it. I also wrote 15 pages of my script, and worked on some additional work. So I am getting it all done! The short story was not necessary.

I know Andreas. We met several times early in our careers. He is an exceptional mathematician, a leading expert on sofic and hyperlinear groups, and one of the most respected scholars in the field. He has spent two decades working on this problem.
If his account is correct, this is not a minor dispute over attribution. It would mean that unpublished human work was absorbed into a model and then presented to the world as a breakthrough by the model itself.
And if the allegations raised by Levent Alpöge, Tristan Buckmaster, and now Andreas Thom are all substantiated, we are no longer looking at isolated incidents.
We may be looking at one of the greatest intellectual scandals in the history of science.
AI is not discovering new mathematics.
AI is stealing human discovery."

Good news for me! My neurologist appointment that was scheduled for March of next year got bumped up to NEXT WEEK! My poor little brain will finally get looked at. I have not heard from the neurosurgeon yet, hopefully that happens soon after. I need a spinal tap still.

Saw my dentist and got a front tooth I cracked fixed, and a chipped back upper molar fixed. I feel so much better! It’s funny how distressing dental problems can be. Like at some point I was feeling sort of hopeless about it all, like it could never get better.
