Shhh go quietly... a little Hedgehog is rustling through your feed. 🥹
A small Hedgehog nestles among a blanket of crisp autumn leaves, peering out with a gentle, curious expression as though happily exploring the woodland floor. Warm golden tones surround its tiny face and spiky coat, creating an irresistibly cosy autumn scene.

Badenoch claims £2,700 a month from the taxpayer to rent a grade II-listed farmhouse with six bedrooms. The property sits within the highest council tax bracket, costing over £4,000 in council tax a year, which the Essex MP also claims on expenses. "Best welfare" is being an MP.

Flashback to a big day out ski touring and powder skiing in a valley almost to myself, where this place near the summit above 3000m in the French Alps immediately entered my Top Ten Favourite Toilets.
A photo of an open doorway, crusted with snow, leading to another door, marked 'Toilettes'. The hall between the two is filled with waist high snow with trodden down steps around the right side. The snow stretches into the bathroom behind. Both doors are jammed open by the snow, impossible to close and protect the interior without serious effort. A good reminder to close doors and windows in the mountains, although this building is at altitude with few visitors at the time and had been bombarded by heavy winter storms.

At the same session, Mark Faghy., professor of clinical exercise physiology at Loughborough University in the U.K., noted that PEM can appear in multiple phenotypes, including "metabolic dominant," characterized by physical fatigability and delayed recovery;
"anatomic dominant," by orthostatic intolerance, dizziness and cardiovascular issues; and "cognitive dominant," by impaired memory, concentration, and executive function. Another variant,
"multisystem" PEM, involves the
"simultaneous exacerbation" of a broad spectrum of symptoms.
To address this heterogeneity, Faghy outlined a "systems-level framework" for understanding and studying PEM. He contrasted this with the standard research approach of focusing on a single pathophysiological pathway rather than on the complex relationships and feedback loops that result from interactions between malfunctioning
systems.

So why do I bother you with all this? 1. Because I can and BlueSky exists 2. Because you can all ignore it. 3. Because it's something AI can't, and will never do. why not? Because it knows words, but has no understanding of place or time and how they relate to language.

Thought I'd add more pics to this thread. An 'atmospheric' and 'bold' route over very steep, very loose ground. Not for the faint hearted or inexperienced, a serious scramble, or perhaps, extreme hiking. The Lord's Rake & West Wall Traverse between Sca Fell and Scafell Pike, Lake District Cumbria.
A slight path is visible to the left as a line of grey gravel and stone, on a small ledge on a steep wall of green moss and grass and dark rock, cutting a diagonal through the centre of the photo. The other half is filled with grey mist, with the shadow of further rock butresses emerging from further behind.A photo looking up at a steep and loose rocky scramble climbing into the scrags above, via a slight gully, the 'path' surrounded by green and brown moss and grass, with a grey sky above.A 'moody' and daunting look back down a steep narrow gully, imposing and dark rock towering over both sides in the grey mist. At the bottom of the picture some loose rocks mark the top of a very steep and very loose chute needing commitment and courage, as the option of retreating becomes more and more remote. Downclimbing and reversing this route would be very serious and possibly terrifying.The Lord's Rake. Looking up at a daunting and steep gully, with steep cliffs to the left and smaller cliffs to the right contiuing the downslope of the mountain. The photo is filled with 50 Shades Of Grey, plus browns and greens. The gully itself is a loose scree slope including some larger boulders which might dislodge and crash down at any time. Handholds on the solid rock wall to the right are essential. This kind of gully, cutting a diagonal across a mountain face are a feature of some mountains in these parts, and are known locally as 'Rakes' in Cumbria. Probably the best known of these is the classic Jack's Rake scramble climbing the face of Pavey Ark, Great Langdale.

...Pigne D'Arolla (upper left corner of photo). To the left are obvious glacier seracs, the line indicates the steep ski descent. Getting up in the night to use the open drop toilet shack above the cliffs was an 'adventure'. Accessed by the Haute Route ski tour across the Alps in the noughties.
A bonus photo of the view looking out from the terrace of the Cabane Des Vignettes, Switzerland. The picture shows a group enjoying the the sunshine, sitting in full mountain wear, looking up at white mountain, the Pigne D'Arolla, with dramatic seracs of the glacier. To the left of the picture ski tracks are visible as ski tourers and ski mountaineers navigated a safer route down the slopes toward the mountain hut.

British government ‘complacent about food as a national security matter’
Experts say country does not have plan to feed people in a crisis and is unprepared for future shortages Britain does not have a plan for how to feed people in a crisis and is unprepared for potential future food shortages, according to a warning from more than 150 experts delivered to Andy Burnham. The climate crisis, geopolitical shocks, cyber-attacks and energy outages are among the threats to food chain security, according to the open letter, which claims the government is “complacent about food as a national security matter”. Establish a new system of local food resilience committees under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Audit the UK’s reliance on a few very large food companies and food imports. Realign national food production around nutritional needs. Create national, regional, local and community food storage schemes. Support the decentralisation of the UK’s food supply.
