New post is live! 40 years of race science arguments about brain size & the racial IQ gap, nobody bothered to write down the math or do anything beyond gawk at correlations. I did, walking through the data & formalizing it with the Lande equation. It fares worse than you could even imagine.

OK folks, this is a very convincing EEG artifact rejection method both theoretically and practically from my short experience. It's the only method I tried that gets rid of pervasive artifacts in a dataset I'm currently analyzing!

Countrywide natural experiment links built environment to physical activity - Nature
By analysing the smartphone data of 2,112,288 participants, in particular observing and comparing the activity of the same individual in two different environments, we find that increases in the walkability of environments result in increases in daily physical activity, providing evidence of the importance of the built environment on physical health.

Influence of sleep and chronotypes: are we adapted to today’s society?
Nature Reviews Neurology, Published online: 21 June 2025; doi:10.1038/s41582-025-01106-6Aspects of modern society, such as artificial lighting and rigid schedules, create ‘social jetlag’ — a mismatch between biological chronotypes and societal demands. This circadian misalignment particularly affects evening chronotypes, leading to sleep deprivation, mental health issues and physical disorders. Flexible schedules and environmental modifications could restore natural sleep patterns and improve well-being.
