I had to drop my car for servicing at the dealership today, and while they worked on it, I worked to a local restaurant and ate lunch. When I returned to pick it up, the guy asked "Are you from out of town?" and my answer was "No, I just left to go get lunch" like that explains anything.

I love how much time Absolute Superman spends on Clark reforming supervillains and helping them heal. He's not just punching heads off and throwing them into black holes. He hugs them, listens to them, reads them poetry, enrolls them in addiction treatment and has faith that they can change.

Just discovered that the map menu in Fortune's Weave has a tab that just lists every recruitable and non-recruitable character and lets your warp right to them. I wish the game had pointed that out to me. It even lists their recruit reqs in the menu!

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.

After digesting it over night, I feel like the character moments in Lanterns' finale were spot on, but the overall conclusion to the series left me somewhat cold. The creators had the chops to tell a great character story, but seemed afraid to fully embrace the world of Green Lantern.

Looks like Marvel is sunsetting the Marvel Unlimited app in favor of a WEBTOON run Marvel Comics app. I don't know if this a good thing, as I've never used WEBTOON, but I sure hope my subscription transfers over seamlessly.

This paragraph from a Gameye post about collecting resonates with me so much.

For myself, it is about what games I love, and the memories they hold.

While I love seeing people who have combed through and gathered every official release for a console, that's just not for me. I'm not really a sports fan (aside from tennis), so you won't find many sports titles on my shelf. But my collection isn't simply a collection of "my favorites." It's a bit more complicated than that. I have duplicate copies of games, broken cases, wrinkled and creased manuals, and discs with deep ring scratches from the time my Xbox 360 got knocked over and ruined my baby brother's cherished copy of Halo 4. Which happened to his copy of Halo Reach as well, oops! Those games aren't just things I own. They're reminders of the people I played them with, the places I was in, and the moments I might otherwise have forgotten.

I don't collect to hoard rare and expensive games. I'm overjoyed every time there's a reprint or a rerelease of a rare game in my library. Games are meant to be shared. The value of my collection is measured in my love for the games in it. That value doesn't depreciate with supply.

Gameye appraises the value of your game as you add them, based on what you have (game, box, manual, CIB) and it's been an eye opening experience. I haven't looked at the collector's market for some of these games in more than a decade, and a lot of games have skyrocketed in value.

Engaging with game fandom is impossible for me. When I'm playing the game, I don't want to get spoiled so I avoid it. When I've finished the game, I don't want to engage with the fandom because I've already lost interest in it and moved on to the next game.
