It’s all just so tawdry and embarrassing this administration. Scary and dangerous because of the power wielded but also tacky and pathetic. A formerly great country soiling itself every day, revelling in mediocrity and incompetence

Boris Johnson’s claims about asking whether Russia interfered in Brexit are misleading. He didn’t ask for any formal assessment and nor did he receive a categorical response. Anyone printing a notorious liar’s disingenuous comments is engaged in deliberate obfuscation.

Incredible softening and qualification ("suggest", "perception", "many", "might", "hoped") here by Chris Mason of poll results which consistently and clearly show - to quote the actual question - that a majority think it was wrong to leave the EU.
In doing so he hopes he can tap into public sentiment. Opinion polls suggest a perception among a majority that leaving the European Union has not turned out how many might have hoped.YouGov Brexit tracker, question "Do you think it was right or wrong to leave the EU?" with results since mid-2021 showing an increasing majority who think it was wrong, with numbers consistently around 57% "wrong", 30% "right" for the last three years

Was that the same security services you dumped to visit ‘ex’ KGB colonel Alexander Lebedev and party in Umbria just after the Novichok Salisbury attack? Or the same security services whose advice you defied to put his son Evgeny in the House of Lords? Those security services?

Instead of arguing about what happened 10 years ago, perhaps the British debate should focus on 1) the very real threat emanating from Russia NOW, including but not limited to disinformation 2) Britain‘s future strategy in a geopolitically turbulent world which makes Brexit look even more absurd

Just 19% of the online encyclopedia’s biographies are of women. Is this because it’s edited by ‘mostly white, middle-aged, European men’, as the comedian claims?

I do think “Russians did Brexit” kind of simplifies and downplays the decades of “EU wants straight bananas” stories while ignoring any EU funded projects or consumer protection laws and platforming Farage in a “help him fake it till he makes it” way and also, the unchallenged xenophobia and racism

Oh aye, wildlife on British coinage "is a denial of history", is it now?
A heap of farthings from 1941, all of them showing a rather evil looking wren. For clarity, that's the bird, not the Royal Navy's feminine side. Of course in 1941 the sort of person now trying to turn this into a culture war would be happier trying to change British coinage into something more... Reichsmark shaped.

Russia has been at war with Britain for years and the EU referendum was an open goal which they exploited. That doesn't mean that "Putin made Brexit happen" but his troll farms and media operations certainly played a part Brexiters may hate to hear it but to deny it is to deny a dangerous reality.

Two most important facts: 1) since Trump became President, attacks on Ukraine have grown substantially in volume and scale. 2) Since Trump became President the US has committed zero (yes, zero) new dollars to support Ukraine.

Trump has imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, and while his kids "negotiate" a Ukrainian peace deal, he's paying Putin to breach sanctions. Hegseth is live-streaming an execution by firing squad, and gave the UFC a binding contract to train the US military in hand to hand combat.

In the same way that fascists don't understand that immigrant farmworkers actually subsidize grocery prices, fascists don't understand that foreign students who pay full price subsidize the American education system for residents. It takes a unique combination of evil and ignorance to be a fascist.
