As Steve outlines below, we have new research out today. For those who prefer paragraphs to graphs when it comes to taking in information, I've written about them here for @politicshome.bsky.social. With some caveats, they're very good for Andy Burnham: www.politicshome.com/opinion/arti...

Ownership matters. New research from Persuasion UK following Andy Burnham’s conference speech suggests arguments about economic power, public control and ownership resonate with voters. That conversation should include sharing ownership and putting more power in more hands.

Really pleased to be the newly relaunched Progressive Review. I've written about the way in which places – by-elections, bellweather constituencies – are written about, which often have to do more with authors' priors and expectations of form than the realities of the electoral map.

I have my personal views on the changes in bureaucratic reporting in the 18th century Qing state. Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn't mean I don't have them, and it doesn't mean I don't care. Nor does it mean I don't acknowledge administrative revolutions in my own, personal way.

One of the really odd things here is that we know from @steveakehurst.bsky.social work that attacks on corruption, donations and crypto links aee the most effective against Farage. And here they are, in essence, leaning into them - after weeks of similar stories which caused huge damage.

Holborn & St Pancras gut take, fwiw: Should be a fairly safe Labour hold, but Polanski adds a big chaos factor. Without the credible threat of Reform, Labour will need to find a way to up the stakes. Greens will need to settle on a few wedge issues. Bit more on each of these 👇🧵
