The 10th annual Cake Wars was a success! Had the kids spin a dial with a color option and an animal option - what it landed on is what was required to be on their cake (at the very least), anything else was fair game. Also had multi colored aprons & a color themed playlist. #SummerReading

Hydnellum peckii is such a crazy thing to see in the wild. Stumbling across this, especially if you don't know what you're looking at, could be a bit intimidating. I can only imagine the things this fungi has been mistaken for by the unsuspecting and uniformed observer 😱 🍄📷 📸🎞 🍄 📷 🌱🌿 🩸

Dark red droplets, created by this mushroom's guttation process, adorn the edges of this toothy mushroom. The teeth grow on the underside of the mushroom while the surface is a bumpy, velvety dark red/purple. It has a wide base, unlike typical mushrooms.

Had to say goodbye to my Aunt today; the last of the original group of grandparents in our family. Made it almost 95 years before cancer took her. RIP Aunt Teeny. We'll all miss you. ❤️
