Alright, so I have been having a streaming issue for a few years now and it drives me nuts. Does anyone out there stream on YouTube using Xsplit? Usually our streams are on Twitch, but anytime I stream on YouTube with Xsplit specifically, it disconnects from the YouTube chat widget every hour.

It is like clockwork, every hour on the hour. It always happens with Xsplit on YouTube. It never happens with Xsplit on Twitch. It never happens with Streamlabs on YouTube. I have no idea what's causing it, and Xsplit is honestly my preferred streaming app due to general Streamlabs layout jank.

By the look and sound of it, cockamamie (also spelled "cockamamy") could have something to do with a rooster and the outrageous sound it makes. But in fact, cockamamie is believed to be an altered form of the term decalcomania, which refers to the process, invented in the mid-19th century, of transferring pictures and designs from specially prepared paper to surfaces such as glass or porcelain. (The word referring to the picture or design itself, decal, is a shortening of decalcomania.) The word decalcomania comes from French, with décalcomanie combining the verb décalquer, meaning "to trace" or "to transfer by tracing," and -manie, meaning "-mania." Starting in the 1930s, painted strips of paper with images capable of being transferred to the skin were called decals or—in children's slang—cockamamies. When sensing power levels in a story, I think it would make sense for the sensation to plateau. Past a certain point, I imagine the difference in pressure would be indistinguishable. You’d hit your limit of perception. Imagine trying to compare sea sizes by standing on their beaches.
