Sincerely think all this hype about AI becoming aware or a threat is just these companies looking for an out without crashing the economy as badly as it could or admitting fault. A large amount of the economy is bundled into these data center ventures and they just aren't making a good return.

At the end of the day what people keep asking for is the ability to know when something is or is not AI so they can make their own informed choices about how they interact with it. Hopefully tools like SynthID become widespread so it doesn't fall on the user to make their own determinations.
