Friends, again with respect because this is a complex issue: children born to citizens of tribal governments do not have constitutional birthright citizenship under many, if not most forms of constitutional argument and authority (incl. Supreme Court precedent relied upon in this case)./1

I think it’s wrong to sensualize a justice slightly concerned about the fate of five million of this countries original inhabitants (persecuted as they are under a million cuts by our government) as extraordinary and more-so to do it reference a deeply racist text.

Some people call this "sane-washing" but I think a better description is when the real Trump falters, they sub in a fake, imaginary Trump into their stories. Beyond cleaning up untidy remarks to make them sound more coherent: "Trump super concerned with nuclear proliferation" is an imaginary guy

Just to expand on this: The dynamic was basically: Voters: Fast food hamburgers went from $3 to $9. I don't like this. Biden/Harris: Look, I'm sorry about your burger or whatever, but there are real people out there with real problems. Trump: I will fix this on day 1. It will be so easy.

I mean you joke but thats how apartheid worked, declaring black South Africans not actually citizens but citizens of different tribal homelands and if they annoyed the White Government they got deported "back" to their Bantustan.

over and over again, outright paid anti-trans activists are quoted in the Times as "concerned parents" or "concerned doctors". these are people who are paid to advocate against trans rights, and they are constantly white-washed by NYT news reporters.

I don't know what SCOTUS will do on birthright citizenship case, it's anybody's guess. But if they endorse Trump's diktat, the only response is defiance. Outright, open defiance by the states. A decision not just erroneous but illegitimate, beyond their power, null and void from the day it's issued.

The fact that people in my mentions are utterly confused about the fundamental difference between a press release from the NYT Communications department and a reported story by an NYT reporter really underscores how genuinely appalling the behavior of NYT was here.

The NYT says today’s #NoKings protests had “no shortage of skeptics,” and then quoted exactly one of those skeptics: The chairman of the Ole Miss College Republicans (as of 2025.) But of course, the Times doesn’t ID him as such. He’s just a Concerned Youth.
The marches had no shortage of skeptics.
In Oxford, Miss,, Cass Rutledge, a first-year law student at the University of Mississippi, walked through the No Kings protest and around the town square on Saturday and questioned why people thought Mr. Trump was acting like a king.
"He is, you know, a duly elected president who won the popular vote and the electoral college in a landslide," Mr. Rutledge said.
"And so I'm a little bit confused on how he's acting differently than any other president."
He pointed to the stalemate in Congress over the SAVE America Act, the Republican-driven bill to tighten voter identification and registration rules, which Democrats have called an attempt to suppress turnout based on false claims of voting fraud. Mr. Rutledge said that Mr.
Trump was "going through the process" to try to get the legislation passed.olemiss.collegerepublicans • Follow The University of Mississippi - Ole Miss

Landlord trying to claim it’s my fault the AC broke because I had it set at 72 which is apparently “too high.” Like, would I set it that high during the summer, no! But it’s in the high 80s this season, I feel 72 is perfectly acceptable. Am I being insane?
