HUGE: Autozone workers just won the first ever union at the company. Despite Autozone spending an estimated $210,696 and using every tactic in the book to stop just 11 workers from forming a union, the small shop in New York chose to unionize today. These workers will now join the @uaw.org.

Ironic since Amazon has allowed agents to shop for the last year techcrunch.com/2025/04/03/a.... Clearly, though, Amazon is trying to prevent agents from choosing between Amazon and *other* shopping sites (which is easy to do with agents looking for a deal).

Amazon is starting to test a new AI shopping agent — a feature it calls "Buy for Me" — that visits other websites and makes purchases for users.

So much of what we know about the lives of enslaved people is through the limited personal autobiographies of the few who gained literacy and freedom, or fictional accounts that we have imagined after research. Giving an identity to this many lives, in this way, is transformational

liberal democracy is not a luxury. liberal democracy is the magic beast that ran the table on fascism and communism and totalitarianism. we did not do this by giving up on liberal democracy and embracing evil. we did this by sticking to our most dear principles.

It's no longer partisans saying Musk will have been responsible for millions of deaths. It's the Lancet saying he'll be responsible for over 14 million deaths. He's welcome to submit a correction... but then he'd have to bring receipts.

Rant: I hate videos where the creators add subtitles over the video that you can't make go away. If I wanted subtitles, I'd display them, maybe even if they're auto-generated.

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.
