It's a limited solution to a systemic problem, a problem that exists because we live in a society that sees women as beings of lesser importance than men and until we as a society fix THAT problem we are going to continue to see ugly and brutal behavior toward women throughout their lives.

For me, the hardest thing about stories like the Cornell gang rape case isn’t reading the initial details—although that is hard. What’s even harder is when men online, especially the journalists and pundits, start trying to combat the feminist outrage by purposefully seeding doubt and victim-blaming

Everyone must go into the midterms clear on this. Trump is just a vessel for others' ambitions: Russia, the techbro neo-fascists (who look to the future), & the reactionary religious right (who dream of the past). And the last group wants to go back to before gay rights. To the Reconstruction. 3/

The chaos of the Trump admin is a smokescreen obscuring that gains his religious-right backers are making. They were clear on their goals: kill Roe v Wade, ban abortion and birth control. Public money for private religious schools, and a national "patriotic curriculum". And roll back gay rights. 2/

I’m genuinely worried that he weakened her civil case with this statement out of petty fury that he’s rightfully getting heat for not pressing charges against rapists. He clearly isn’t interested in seeing her succeed and he basically called her a liar—a huge gift to the civil defense

“This is not a dark chapter in Cornell’s history, it’s a morbid pattern” Editorial Board at The Cornell Sun absolutely fucking your shit UP www.cornellsun.com/article/2026...
We refuse for this victim to be reduced to just another story.
Cornell has failed to protect its students. Cornell has failed to address the growing issue of sexual assault on campus with its pathetic task force. Cornell has failed the student allegedly raped by those seven men at Chi Phi in October 2024. Cornell has failed her. Cornell has failed us.

To Matthew Ingalls, Jonathan Newell, Winston Lee, Gillio Lopes, Diego Sarabia, Scott Norris and Scott Kretzschmar: We know who you are and we refuse to let you benefit from this University's concealment.

People aren’t faking their disabilities, they’re faking being well. We know society hates us. We know we will be judged for using assistive devices. Many of us take years to get the courage to lean in to accommodations. Stop judging. Help us build a more inclusive world.

Yes. I think the consensus among US elite pundits and senior politicians that the way to protect liberal democracy is *not* to punish elite figures who violate its rules is wrong. A norm starting at least with the Watergate pardon. The opposite is true. You need to enforce the law and Constitution.

Mental health crises can lead people to harm and even kill themselves and others. They are medical emergencies and we need accessible mental healthcare to meet this need. If we promote the idea that suffering from this is a moral failure, that will result in more preventable death, not less.
