In response to this story, a DHS spokesperson who looks like a literal child (and whose sole prior experience is working for Republicans) provided a deeply offensive and bigoted statement claiming that ICE was providing "the best healthcare that many aliens have received in their entire lives"

Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Chandler Rebel said in a statement that detainees still have access to a wide range of medical services, including on-site care, emergency transportation, emergency room treatment, hospital admissions and off-site specialty care.
“Specialist appointments are not immediate and may take time to secure,” Rebel said, adding it is “not uncommon” for some specialty appointments to be booked weeks or months out and that the timing was not under ICE’s control.
“If specialty medical care is required and there is no access to that care, the facility will notify ICE and request a transfer of the alien to a facility that can provide access to that care,” Rebel said.
“This is the best healthcare that many aliens have received in their entire lives,” he added.

The DHS spokesperson, who graduated from college in 2022 and is now the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS.

The resume of the guy, showing how he graduated college in 2022 with a degree in journalism, worked on Herschel Walker's campaign that fall, then in 2023 joined Mike Collins' staff as a press assistant for a few months before being hired as deputy press secretary for Ron Johnson fora year, then a communications advisor for Senator Mullin, then after Mullin joined DHS, became Principal Deputy Press Secretary at DHS in March and in August became Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs.

Hi there! I've been a 1Password customer on my personal account for about ten years; I started with 1Password 6. I've cumulatively managed about 500 business seats across my career.

I'm about to stop being a 1Password customer because 1Password is sponsoring Omarchy. Omarchy's founder, DHH, is an on-the-record proponent of ethnic cleansing. 1Password giving DHH money for his pet Linux distribution is unacceptable behavior. You should know that, and I should not need to be telling you this, but apparently I have to.

If 1Password wishes to retain my business, the company needs to promptly retract this sponsorship, issue an apology for its mistake, and provide a root-cause analysis for how the decision to publicly align with a proponent of ethnic cleansing came to be.

This week,
@Creators announced that it
will be ending the Creator Revenue Sharing program and launching the Original Content Rewards program starting September 7, 2026.
One of the requirements to participate in this new program is being based in an eligible country, and unfortunately, Brazil is not on the list.
As you may know, I'm Brazilian and I live in Brazil, so this impacts me directly.
X has been my main source of income for the past two years, ever since | gained recognition for creating the Sweet Baby Inc Detected Steam curation page and my website deidetected.com (the site is currently down, but I plan to launch a project soon to bring it back up permanently)
The decision to exclude Brazil from this list is closely tied to the current Brazilian government and the upcoming presidential elections in October.
