The general response to us disabled ppl is to just sit there and hope we don’t die while maybe someone might or might not come fetch us later. I’m extremely lucky I can force enough mobility to escape a place in emergencies, but that’s not true of so many of us and its so cruel & terrifying.

You just never know what you'll see when you step out the door
Several fancy Koi fish swimming just below the surface of a pond. Bare tree branches overhead are reflected on the water and there are several yellow leaves floating on the surface. It's a complicated mixture of colours and levels but it kind of works.

Today the Premier revealed his environmental platform: re-announcing a marine plan signed two years ago, a land target from 2023 and a data centre power cap that’s already in force. What he didn’t say, is that his own government admits B.C. will miss its climate targets.

You cannot leave prison without a documented place to stay, a job or rehabilitation program lined up, and someone to come and pick you up. There was one woman we met who was there for 2 EXTRA years at the state prison cause she had no living family and simply couldnt get a ride

I was up early yesterday, at the marsh to see a whale of an autumn sunrise. A true crack-of-dawn affair, the sun slid past an opening on the horizon for this wonderful minute or two before clouds set in. Also I saw birds: geese, ducks, gulls, snipes, longspurs, kinglets, sparrows, eagles.
A vibrant sunrise over a silhouetted prairie marsh, with sky tones ranging from yellow to maroon and magenta. A vertical pillar of light extends from where the sun is about to show. A pair of distant geese fly in the sky.

PMC COVlD Update, Oct 5, 2026 ◾️Levels peaked at ≈610,000 estimated new daily infections in mid Sep ◾️36 states still with known outbreaks (see Alt text) ◾️13th COVlD wave Website: pmc19.com Interactive county-level map: pmc19.com/map
The US has at least 36 states and territories with COVlD outbreaks. The apparent wave peak has passed, but transmission remains high across much of the country. States with observed outbreaks include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawai'i, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. There are likely outbreaks in additional states. The summary statistic only includes counties with observed data, rather than estimated data. For example, Arkansas, DC, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wisconsin likely have outbreaks, but monitoring is poor.

It is bizarre to watch people use the words "restorative justice" to center the need of someone who assaulted someone else. You simply cannot talk about restorative justice in this context without centering his victim.

The person who needs to be intentionally restored to the community in the aftermath of intimate violence is the victim of that violence. To do that often requires attacking the perpetrators’ power/access to victims. Asking “but how can we fix their heart?” as a bystander is deeply inappropriate.

This isn't just bad actors-it's a corporate playbook and a roadmap to a future of unconstrained emissions.
