Please hear me out: Disney's gargoyles. There's truly something for everyone and I was into everything about that show, I still think about it all the time.

still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them

Congrats on no cancer! had a hysterectomy a couple months ago because of endometrial hyperplasia and also got clean pathology. hope recovery is going okay for you, day three was about the worst of it for me.

Best of luck! I unexpectedly had mine yoinked a couple months ago and I must disgruntledly tell you that walking around will help with many things for the weeks afterwards. Hopefully things go smooth and life is better afterwards!

Poblanos and banana for sure, and last year the place we get seeds from had an accidental cross that produced full flavor habaneros that were about a quarter of the usual heat, around serrano level, that made INCREDIBLE mango habanero jelly. I can link them if you'd like!

thanks very much! it's hard to describe exactly what wellbutrin does to me re: side effects, but I'm getting tired of how reactive it makes my heart rate/blood pressure. I'll read through these!

030

Bones @submarineterfuge.bsky.social · 06/05/2026

thank you for this, Wellbutrin also kinda works for me but extended release stimulants really do not, do you have any resources handy on the side effects that I could bring to my doc? not asking you to do any research, just thought there was a chance you might have something bookmarked.

I had an unexpected hysterectomy about six weeks ago (at least I know it's perimenopause and not the apocalypse) and am still in the 'no lifting over 10lb' stage and I am LOSING MY ENTIRE ADHD MIND, what do you MEAN I can't do garden prep or lift my dutch oven, I cannot live like this, my sympathies

010

Bones @submarineterfuge.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

thank you so much, I'm gonna grab all of these things! I've already told my caretakers they're going to have to keep me from being an ADHD fool and overdoing it so hopefully we will have success in that area.

Bones @submarineterfuge.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

I'm having a surprise hysterectomy next week, would you mind pointing me in the right direction for the ice packs? I've never had surgery and I'm doing my best to alleviate nerves by prepping :(

The propensity for so many people who live in 'blue' states to have this mentality of "lets just abandon the 'red' states to the worst of this because this is those people's fault and they deserve it" is a clear sign they are not at all as far removed from fascism as they think they are.

It’s the flag America carried into war to stomp the bones of dead Confederate slavers into the mud where they belonged, & to stomp dead Nazis’ bones into the mud where they belonged. America is its people & the flag a symbol of what we make it, good & bad. It’s always on us to make it mean better.

I love English. It's a trash fire disguised as a language and I'm here for all of it. However, I really need to be better about people not speaking it "correctly." It's a goddamn trash fire. Of course people don't speak it correctly. I'm pretty sure there's no correct way to speak it. And that's leaving out all the racism and classism which goes into
"grammatical perfection."

English isn't Latin. It's a glorious clusterfuck of stolen parts bolted onto a bastard chassis and powered entirely by the burning of dictionaries. There is no way that it should be the lingua franca of international affairs, and yet it is. Speak it any way you want. English doesn't give a fuck. English will take your error and turn it into a part of itself.

English drinks prescriptivist tears like fine wine. Contribute to the delinquency of English any way you can.

Today would have been Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. He wrote this in 1995. Carl was absolutely right. #CarlSaganDay

I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.
