This to me not only seems like an abuse of market dominance (under classic competition law) but also the FRAND access provisions under Article 6(12) DMA. Publishers should file a complaint with the European Commission ASAP. This turd of a company extorts them to get access to their product for free.

Do you have evidence to back this up? If so can you explain what "good night" , "good

whatSean Kress & @SKress7514 • 14h
I was genuinely asking the question because the only thing I find on the internet is that it is basically a slur from the original.... I assumed there was a better explanation for it than that as it seems a little unlikely given the good night, good morning etc haven't been slurred into something else too. Sorry if you saw that as offensive.

Merriam-Webster @ @Merriam...•14h S
It is not related to 'good night/ day/morning.'
The 'good' in those do not come from 'God.'Sean Kress @ @SKress7514 • 14h
So the internet suggestion this it is just a slur is what you are basing that on too then?

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Merriam-Webster's etymology follows established linguistic scholarship, not unverified internet suggestions of a "slur."
"Goodbye" is an alteration of "God be with you"; "good" in greetings like "good morning" has separate origins unrelated to "God."

ABSTRACT
In September 2026, the European Commission published a proposed EU KIDS Act, responding to the
demand for restrictions and further design obligations applying to digital services accessible to children,
including social media. This Article argues that regardless of what one believes about the merits of this
policy direction, the EU KIDS Act is not the legislative text we need. The scope and drafting are little
short of chaotic, full of holes, enormous ambiguities, and unintended consequences. Recitals contradict
articles. The use of scope borrowed from other pieces of legislation not designed for this purpose brings
services into scope that should not be subject to the relevant provisions, like book-recommendation
websites, music services, or exercise trackers. The infrastructural requirement for assurance of age and
parental responsibility attestation simply omits enormous issues of complex families and childhoods.
Complex design obligations are written in ways that can be plausibly interpreted as implicitly prohibiting
entire swathes of products, such as voice assistants. This Article outlines these issues, and many more.
The Commission should withdraw this proposal and reissue a workable and realistic tex

“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”

Bad content drives out good. www.garbageday.email/p/ai-growth-...
In the past week, several content creators have stumbled across accounts feeding their videos to AI programs that replace all the humans in the videos with artificial versions that mimic their movements and words exactly. Essentially, they recreate the video in all other details, but the fake people replacing the original creators is enough to avoid getting flagged as a repost.
This “AI flipping” has been a successful strategy on short-form video apps for months. These videos seem to be most popular on Instagram Reels, where they’re the bread and butter for at least one of the site’s fastest-growing accounts. Recent moves by Instagram seem to be aimed at cutting down on the practice, but we’re still seeing AI flips that are more popular than the original. Let’s walk through everything we know.
Part of why this growth hack works is that the platform doesn’t have any tools to find the original human video from the AI recreation — you need to see them both and remember one when you see the other. That means we’re not certain when or where this began. But the most successful AI flipper we’ve found is called Mr. Stretchy, an Arabic-language Instagram account that takes popular videos from all over the world and replaces the humans in them with this uncanny Wallace & Gromit reject.

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

One of the things that makes constitutional-theoretical conversations difficult is that almost every concept in circulation is essentially contested balkin.blogspot.com/2026/09/disc...
Discontent with Constitutionalism and Its Discontents

Guest Blogger

For the Balkinization symposium on Mark Tushnet and Bojan Bugaric, Constitutionalism and Its Discontents (University of Chicago Press, 2026).

Martin Loughlin

My thoughts on Constitutionalism and Its Discontents, the latest publication from Professors Tushnet and Bugaric, must be situated in the context of their earlier book, Power to the People. That book, I argued in Balkinization, had failed to give a cogent answer to the basic question it sought to address, namely, whether populism is inconsistent with constitutionalism. And the reason was that the authors had not provided a clear statement of what those two key terms mean. With respect to constitutionalism, they sought to avoid controversy by presenting what they called a ‘thin’ account which could operate as ‘a least common denominator’. But this account, I suggested, was not only as contentious as so-called ‘thick’ accounts; it was also skewed in such a way that it would not be accepted by constitutionalism’s most fervent advocates. Their thin account could not differentiate between those who adhere to constitutionalism, those who reject constitutionalism but uphold constitutional democracy, and those who merely acknowledge the value of constitutional government.

In their response, the authors failed to engage with this issue other than indicating that my understanding of constitutionalism was not suitable for their purpose. Since the point I was making preceded the publication of my book, Against Constitutionalism, that seemed fair enough, because only in that book was I able to make out the case that throughout the modern era constitutionalism has carried a clear and widely understood meaning. It is, I argued, a liberal theory advocating the need for the written constitution to include a particular set of institutional arrangements that could restrain the power of majorities and set in place a scheme of limited government so that indivi…

UCL Massively Crossreferenced Digital Laws

Varying digital legal instruments across jurisdictions, each able to be clicked on a section/article/paragraph basis to find the hard and soft law instruments that cite and interpret each specific part (or substantively very similar parts of previous/neighbouring laws.) Snippets provided for each citing source along with original links to that source. Typically thousands of citations for each. Citing documents can be ordered by date, citation numbers, or 'authority/influence' (PageRank algorithm).

Database of citing documents maintained and updated daily/weekly; the below documents intended to be updated weekly. Last update 3 August 2026.

Document coverage and national grammar for document detection is strongest and best tested for UK, Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, EU and ECHR, but the database contains and attempts to link administrative decisions and guidance from other jurisdictions. Unlike Westlaw or other providers, this is not only free, with links to the originals, and incorporates a large amount of guidance and secondary material.

Documents generated from a dataset held and maintained by Michael Veale, Professor of Technology Law and Policy, Faculty of Laws, University College London. If you wish to study these instruments and the tech and practices that interact with them, consider learning about it at UCL Laws: on our LLM in Law and Technology, or our week-long executive education on AI for Lawyers: Technological Understanding for Compliance and Litigation.

Are there any colleagues or universities here? I am dean of Law Faculty at the University of Helsinki and Professor of Cooperative Law. I work besides uni adm, with sustainability law, corporate and cooperative law, accounting, auditing, finance, EU law, comparative law, all that stuff.
