When you have ADHD you learn pretty quickly that routines can't be maintained all the time. That sometimes you are going to drop the ball. I think the biggest coping mechanisms I have learned is not to punish myself for that but to get back to the routine.

Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.

Every AI/HCI paper I review now just sounds like this.
Research [25] shows that people [26] enjoy the feeling of winning games [3,5,19]. Enjoying things can lead to longer life expectancy [2], higher economic productivity [9,22,33-40,302] and improve mental health [9]. Yet many games still include losing players [67,4]. A recent study showed that less than half of the players in a Chess [1] match win on average [42]. We have developed an LLM-driven co-creative [66], user-led [11], mixed-initiative [80] assistant for Chess [2], through which players can redefine the rules of Chess [3] using generative AI prompting such that they are the winner of Chess [4]. A study (n=3) showed that 100\% of people felt better, healthier and more self-actualised after using our tool, showing that this may be the way forward for games and human culture more broadly in the future.

A nonfiction book written in, let’s say, the year 1795, is most likely still around in a library somewhere and every other work it referred to is probably accessible in some archive as well. A nonfiction book written in 2007 probably cites a bunch of urls that are dead or rotted beyond recognition.

this is exactly my opinion. there may be a superstrate of extremely difficult and unique safety problems around AI, but the substrate is simply that no one takes basic precautions seriously becasue they imagine (or pretend to imaigne) that it is futile, and basic precautions slow down launches.

To oversimplify, there are two types of engineers: Those who deliver valuable projects and those who don't. These are—imperfectly!—correlated with engineers who just go do things and engineers who are told to do things. Is a junior who just does stuff going to make crap? Yeah but they'll learn.

Ok so you know that thing where Facebook shows your friends ads with pictures of your face inserted with AI based on scraping your old photos, well here's the process to opt out of it, which is absolutely insane us.norton.com/blog/ai/how-... you fill out a form from a link buried 3 levels deep
Relevant Prompts
I didn't enter any prompts. Muse used my face in an Al generated ad shown to my friends. I assume this came from photos I uploaded in the past to Facebook or Instagram as I have not posted anything in years.Screenshot of response
Attach one screenshot that shows yo response from an Al at Meta model, f must be less than 4 MB and saved as WebP file.

Additional context
My friend did not take a screenshot because they were too creeped out.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, holding a red ball labeled "A SILLY MEME".
The second panel shows Sarah taking the ball and going through a door labeled "GROUP CHAT".
The third panel shows a group of women sitting together and consoling one woman in the center. The woman in the center is saying "...And that's how it happened. It's been the worst day of my life."
The fourth panel shows Sarah standing in the doorway behind them awkwardly holding the red ball.

my friend (in a friend group) is melancholic and prickly but they are kind to those who are their friends and I'm trying to figure out if I actually want to ask if they want to hang out one on one or if I just crave validation from those I percieve as selective. could be both. also they're cute.

Maybe the reason the economic vibes are so off isn't that things are *worse* than the great recession but because back then we all thought the pain was temporary, whereas the things that are wrong with the economy today have all been getting worse for a long time and show no signs of improving
