We @libdems.org.uk have a plan to put £680 a year back in people’s pockets. We will raise the tax‑free personal allowance and the 40% threshold to give low‑ and middle‑earners the pay rise they deserve. The cost‑of‑living crisis has gone on too long. People need real action.

Why is the response to this post overwhelmingly about the affect on pensioners, and NOT absolute anger that the tax free personal allowance remains frozen, bringing more people on low incomes into the tax system??? The solution is to raise the tax free limit for everyone.

Anyone who knows their history will know that this is almost precisely what Hitler did in 1933 - forcing through the Reichstag Fire Decree which declared a state of emergency and then the Enabling Act which allowed rule by decree. The parallels are exact.

When the Lib Dems announce a policy why don't #r4today refer to a "future Lib Dem government" but they do refer to a "future Reform Government" despite Reform having 8 MPs and 4 of those elected as Conservatives compared to the Lib Dems having 71 MPs. Clearly biased reporting

Every serious analysis of the future of the economy says we need a lot more B. It happens in universities. A is not an alternative to B. It is also important. Universities do not only consist of D. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
