Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else. Tbh I kind of think the job isn’t to convict Trump, it’s to convict his minions at all levels. Trump might not even be alive when we get the chance and likely would not survive long enough in any case, but putting Stephen miller in a 4x4 cage for the rest of his life is a much stronger message

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted
to be a gangster. To me… being a gangster was

Even before I went to the cabstand for an
afterschool job… I knew I wanted to be a part of
them. It was there that I knew I belonged. To me,

of nobodies. They weren’t like anybody else.

They did whatever they wanted. They parked in
front of hydrants and never got a ticket. In the
summer, when they played cards all night…
nobody ever called the cops.

At first my parents loved that I found a job…
across the street from the house. My father, who
was Irish, was sent to work at the age of 11. He
liked that I got myself a job. He always used to say
that American kids were spoiled lazy.
