As someone with moderate-severe me/cfs, I find it’s not hope that defines my outlook but rather what brings me joy. And, at the moment it seems that thing is making music when I can from bed or padded chair. And, maybe right now that is more important than hope

Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words
"Free Palestine" and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, "I don't take sides."

I recently took my car to the dealership for a recall fix, but setting up the appointment was enraging b/c they switched to an AI phone answering system with an AI agent named "Donna." When I arrived, the staff was in complete disarray b/c they were backed up and multiple people were cussing Donna.

Palestinians and trans people are human beings. Also, and these are only slightly less controversial, women, disabled people, poor people, Black and other people of color are human beings. If we can't agree on that, we don't have enough common ground to communicate.

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
The famous Copenhagen shopping street where it opens up into a triangular public place and gathering place, filled with people.
