Well… ok. So at that time… *I* thought I was done with building trelli (yes… plural form). But along with planting out the west side raised beds with hydrangeas, we needed a screen for the AC fan box thingee. It blasts the bed in summer. And I still need to make a gate. But it’s a start.
A climbing hydrangea on a west facing trellis now has a north facing trellis at 90° ish next to to also clamber upon. The AC pump unit thingee box has a non trellis cedar wood horizontal slat screen with 1/2” gaps in between the boards. Screen matches the trellis in construction hopefully but is only about 4’ tall.

A mid-summer black-eyed susan blossom.

The picture was run through home brew image processing software which manipulated the colors and outlined details in black.

The blossom is lavender, the leaves are green, and the background foliage is bright orange and red. There is enough black tho' that it feels like a taint against the vivid colors of the rest of the picture, giving an air of menace and danger.

A photo of a tiny pineapple lily, pink blooms clustered an a flower spike topped with a cluster of small flopping leaves give the bloom the appearance of a pineapple A photo of agapanthus phantom. Loved this one enough to buy it! Tall flowers with white fading out to a steely pale purple/gray. A photo of salvia patens, these salvia flowers are blue. So very blue! An unknown flower covered in cute little beetles, this flat white flower head is some sort of umbrel.

A dark day for human rights.
four frame comic. first frame shows the logo of amnesty international. second frame shows jk rowling, smiling in the dark. third frame shows an empty classroom, with a pride poster almost falling from the wall. fourth frame shows a trans flag flying in the wind. text above all the images reads :
on july 8th, amnesty Inter-
national uk published a report
titled “A Growing Threat: The
Anti-Rights Movement in the UK.”
it listed 117 orgs, including anti-
trans and anti-queer ones
backed by jk rowling.
the backlash was immediate
and brutal : rowling pledged
to cover the fees of anyone
who wished to sue amnesty.
the report was taken down
within 48 hours.
this morning (july 31st), amnesty
fully capitulated and released
an apology to anti-trans orgs,
which, it said, should not have
been "collectively labelled as
anti-rights". rowling
celebrated.
an organisation that
bravely faced fascist regimes
and reported human rights
violations for 65 years has caved
to rowling's power and bigotry.
it's a dark day for human rights.
