Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 08/10/2026A flourishing, healthy, peaceful Gaza could have proved to Israelis that occupation is the problem and they would have been convinced to end it in the West Bank also. Israelis don’t love occupation, they are scared the WB would become another Gaza. 000
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 08/10/2026You don’t think Hamas’s takeover of Gaza and the subsequent tunnel building to kidnap Israelis and constant rockets had anything to do with it? Israelis saw Gaza as a test case. 100

Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026These crazy people have been harassing Jews for three years, and every time we’ve tried to talk about it we get hit back with “being upset about genocide and criticism of Israel isn’t antisemitic.” 1385

Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Notably, the more than half of Israel’s Jewish population who ended up there when they were persecuted and expelled from Arab lands, their ancient communities extinguished, after Israel was created. 000
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I know people think that the Palestinians are suffering from “European antisemitism.” But the attitude of Israelis towards Palestinians isn’t about European antisemitism and violence it’s about the antisemitism and violence they’ve experienced directly at the hands of Palestinians and other Arabs. 100
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026When did violence start? It started in the 1920s with the Nebi Musa and Hebron riots, followed by the Arab revolt in the 1930s. One could claim this violence was in response to Jewish migration, Arab tenant farmer displacement, etc. but it was not the Jews of Palestine who turned to violence first. 100
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026The problem is the equivocation. “It didn’t start that day” implies it was deserved or at least inevitable. No it didn’t start that day. There has been a full on century of horrific back and forth violence and the first people to use violence (before Israel existed) weren’t the Jews of Palestine. 200
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I have to say, I feel really grateful I didn’t experience this. Admittedly, being Orthodox and only ever working in Jewish jobs means most people I know are Jewish. But the non-Jewish friends I DO have reached out then and have stayed supportive of me. I feel very blessed in that regard. 040
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Hamas has murdered people’s children and destroyed their hope, that’s why the response has been awful. Your need to twist and invert the Holocaust notwithstanding. 000
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Gee, given what happened on 10/7 I wonder why Israel felt the need to control what goes in and out of a state governed by an internationally recognized terrorist group who openly call for genocide and ethnic cleansing and carried out suicide bombings for years. 000
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Did Hamas shoot rockets into Israel and use tunnels to murder and kidnap people before October 7? 130
Reposted by MichelleZoomer Antimillenarian @surcomplicated.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Something ppl need to realize is that almost everyone in Israel--and a good chunk of Jews outside of Israel--knew someone who was seriously hurt or killed by Hamas during the Oct 7 Massacre. It's like if 9/11 killed multiple orders of magnitude more people per capita. 520337
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Israel pulled out of Gaza completely. There was no blockade, no occupation, until Hamas took over and started using the territory to shoot rockets into Israel and build tunnels to kidnap Israelis. Egypt closed their border at the same time. 100
Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026What Israel has been doing to Palestinians for decades has been a response to what Palestinians have been doing to THEM for decades. Since before Israel even existed. 100

Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Hamas is doing genocide. By your very own logic, everything Israel has done is justified because it’s in the service of resisting genocide. Michelle @sneaker328.bsky.social · 07/10/2026The Jews who moved to Palestine under the Ottomans were primarily refugees fleeing pogroms. When the world closed its doors to Jews fleeing Europe in the 1920s is when migration to Palestine accelerated. What do many of you are saying is the Jews should have simply done the right thing and died. 120
