The cover of Forbes, where Elizabeth Holmes holds a capsule of blood for a cover story extolling her genius, shortly before she was convicted for fraud and sentenced to a long prison sentence.

A glossy photo spread extolling the glamour and taste of Asma al-Assad, weeks before her husband committed multiple war crimes and eventually had to flee to Russia to avoid being hacked apart by an enraged rob.

Bonus super meow cat rubbing it's face up a palm tree and the incredible out of focus cat.

A cat having a good old face rub against the base of a palm tree. This one was the noisiest cat we met, liked a good meow.

For some reason my phone decided it was best to focus on the periphery rather than the subject so this cat is out of focus. Perhaps it has a special aura that deters photography.

I've added the Brexit departure to a BBC chart of boat crossings. They're reporting more racist thug unrest, although they call it a "protest". Considering Pharage was the loudest cheerleader for Brexit, the levels of boat crossing are on him more than anyone.

In honour of 'Night of the Living Dead' having its Pittsburgh premiere on this day in 1968, here are some zombie antics from previous years.

The 4 panel Drake meme is now in black & white. The 1st panel shows Barbara, from 'Night of the Living Dead' (1968), smiling as she points at her dashing brother Johnny in Panel 2. Panel 3 shows a distraught Barbara, looking away from her now zombified brother in panel 4.

The thumbs-up version of the 'Two Buttons' meme, except the Space Captain guy has been replaced by Tarman from The Return of The Living Dead. The two options on the buttons are "BRAINS" and "MORE BRAINS".

The Spider-Man Pointing Meme, but the 2 Spideys are now zombies. They both have chunks missing out of them, with ripped costumes that show their green mouldy skin beneath. Zombie Spidey 1 is holding his own, severed right arm, complete with pointing finger, in his left hand and directing it at Zombie Spidey 2. Zombie Spidey 2 is still pointing at Zombie Spidey 1 with his right arm, but that arm has detached itself from his shoulder and now lying on the floor. There's no blood because that ain't what Spidey's about.

The Bernie Sanders meme where he is "Once again asking... " except Bernie's face has been swapped for Zombie Flyboy, from "Dawn of the Dead" (1978). The wording now reads: "I am once again asking for your braaaaaaaaains."

It's the start of the 2026 Hallowmeme Countdown. 🎃

The "Back In My Day" Simpsons meme that usually shows Grampa regaling Springfield's younger residents, (who are all sat at his feet in a semi-circle), with tales of how things used to be. Grampa is now Captain McCallister, the kids are still the kids, but the daytime and rolling green hills have been replaced with a beach under starry skies. The wording at the top reads "JOHN CARPENTER'S THE FOG". I was going to replace the drink in the captain's hand with a pocket watch, but couldn't be arsed, so feel free to imagine it for yourselves.

Jim Henson was born on this day in 1936.

Edward Hopper's 'Nighthawks', but the man and woman at the counter of the diner are now Fozzie and Miss Piggy. The guy with his back to us is now Bert, but Bert is being operated by Frank Oz, who is crouched down in front of the counter. The waiter/server is now Jim Henson who is looking intently at Kermit, and Kermit, who is occupying half of Jim's right arm, is looking intently at Jim. The diner is now called "JIMMYS".

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

One of my first secondary school assemblies was attended by Stan and Hilda Ogden from Coronation Street. They were there to present a motorised wheelchair that the school had raised funds for. It was even on Granada Reports that evening. Set a bar that was never attained again.
