Stream Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising on @cbcgem today. This is the story of Indigenous youth, many out of Indian Residential School, who took a stand and took over Anicinabe Park in Kenora in 1974.And here is the link to the full Anishinabemowin version: https://youtu.be/tRxMcJMrsSE The film was translated by Farrell White and his wife Verna. I wrote this film along with Shane Belcourt. It is the absolute true story of one of Canada’s first land back movements, of youth rising up, along with members of the American Indian Movement, who came to Kenora to lend a hand. And when the occupation was peacefully done, the youth went on to form the Native Caravan, which joined the Cache Creek Warriors and drove to Parliament Hill. There, they were met with armed RCMP guards who violently ended the Caravan on the steps of Parliament Hill.Miigwetch @indigenousscreen @telefilm_canada for helping us tell this important true story. @creativemakwa

If I’m reading this correctly, Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford’s campaign is asking volunteers to give them full access to their contact lists on their *personal* cell phones? www.nationalobserver.com/2026/09/28/i...
'You don't need to freak out about this'
Introducing Bradford's supporters to the app on the Zoom call, Punia instructed them to give the app permission to access all of their contacts.

"Do not give it partial contact ability, give it full. And what I want to say to you guys here is, you don't need to freak out about this," said Punia. He reassured them that only contacts they marked as known or potential Bradford supporters would be given to the campaign.

One attendee hesitated as she had over 2,400 contacts on her phone. She was instructed to give the app access to all of them and mark them one by one according to their level of support for Bradford.
