This week MP Gord Johns presented our petition in the House of Commons pursuing a federal tax credit for nurses, targeted to improve nursing retention. The gov't has 45 days to respond. CFNU is standing with the labour movement against measures in Bill C-39 that would undermine workers’ right to strike. Bill C-39 was introduced in the House of Commons on Monday and includes new measures that allow for a legal strike to be ended if it is seen to be against the national interest.

Housing is unaffordable. Good jobs are hard to find. The cost of living keeps rising. Migrants did not create these crises - they are struggling too. But instead of taking on the rich & powerful, politicians are blaming migrants & changing rules on people who were invited to build their lives here.
