I don't think it's "marketing" when AI execs are panic quitting for fear of birthing Skynet, I think they genuinely believe it. They're wrong, but there's no conspiracy. They're just deep in AI psychosis and even if they can see the strings better than anyone, they still think the puppet is alive.
