#31daysofgraves Day 13: Unusual. Not only is this heart-shaped logo unique, the whole epitaph is a teaser for the deceased’s book!

Seven lines curve in from the right and left to form something that looks like a heart - or maybe a rib cage seen from above. A spiked circle is below the heart and a tiny arch above. The stone reads: 1861 symbol 1947, John William Benson, Explanation of this unique design is to be found page 35 Principia of Universareology copies in various public libraries.

#31DaysofGraves - Missing Rochester State Hospital Cemetery 2019 patients whose bodies were unclaimed or whose families could not afford burials were buried here, often with just a number, or no marker at all. Beginning in 2007, each person was given a headstone, but for some, details are missing.

A grave marker for Tabitha Northrup placed by the Rochester State Hospital Cemetery Recognition Group and Remembering with Dignity.

#31DaysOfGraves #Lettering Not quite a gravestone, although it is in a graveyard, and not quite letter-ing, but letters: a "postbox to heaven" in Wolston, Warwickshire, suggested by a grieving relative. Read about it at www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A typical country postbox on a pole. The box has been painted white with gold lettering. It bears the usual "Post Office E [crown] R" but on the side, and the front, is inscribed a drawing of an envelope , followed by "Letters To Lost Loved Ones". The postbox is situated within a graveyard.
