Only 71,850 people have registered to vote in the new Higher Education constituency for the Seanad, despite a potential electorate of between 800,000 and 1,000,000 graduates. The unified 6-seater is open to graduates of over 80 higher level institutions, not just the historic TCD and NUI.

Bonnet height in cars increasing is bad for pedestrians in case of accidents. This is a case of weighing consumer preferences (people like driving in big cars) and public health concerns (more dangerous for pedestrians) against each other. Interesting to see what society as a whole find acceptable.
