Carney's arrogance is showing. And this whole argument is bullshit. We stopped building because big companies decided to focus on share buybacks and maximizing dividends rather than new capital investments. Justin Trudeau didn't cause that to happen. www.thestar.com/politics/mar...
He also took aim at Canada’s regulatory environment that existed before he took office, including through changes under his predecessor prime minister Justin Trudeau, arguing that there is an urgent need for change so that major “strategic infrastructure” like the St. Lawrence Seaway or trans-Canadian railroads can be constructed again.

“We used to build in Canada. We used to build big,” Carney said. “Decade after decade, year after year, we build less.”

The prime minister said that a succession of “well-meaning” restrictions on development has hampered progress in this country, which “meant that we stopped building.
