Researchers at the University of Nottingham used AI to measure play behaviour in dairy calves, harnessing technology to automatically measure a positive welfare indicator. Their model was able to detect that calves play more often when they are in good health and when given access to cow brushes!

23,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules. That’s the amount of heat the oceans absorbed in 2025. A number so huge it’s almost meaningless…until you realise it’s roughly 40× humanity’s annual energy use. The ocean is buying us time. We’re running out of it. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

An article by "Joe dot ie" on the status of Irish football players that are destined to play a game of football against Israel tomorrow (27th September 2026) Ireland vehemently supports Palestine and as a nation are collectively horrified at the fact that Israel are committing genocide and that they are being pressured to play by UEFA. A circular diagram illustrating the six pillars of Canada's National AI Strategy surrounding the central theme “AI for All.”

The six segments are:

Pillar 1 (Protecting Canadians and Safeguarding Democracy)
Pillar 2 (Empowering Canadians)
Pillar 3 (Powering Shared Prosperity)
Pillar 4 (Building the Canadian Sovereign AI Foundation)
Pillar 5 (Scaling Canadian Champions)
Pillar 6 (Building Trusted Partnerships and Global Alliances).

One inner circle includes the words trust, opportunity and sovereignty. The other just says adoption adoption adoption.

The millipede weighed more than 1000X the weight of an individual ant. Chains of 15-20 ants, locked on each other's abdomens, pull with their combined strength. Note the branching. Ahead of the hauling team, other workers cleared obstacles along the path, moving sticks & leaves.
