Something like the demo tool used in this talk maybe but specialized for shaders? Multiple visualizations of specific variables, drag to tune a variable,... www.youtube.com/watch?v=en2Q... (I honestly have no idea what the tool is he used here but it looks cool for interactive coding)

If it works, that's pretty cool; I didn't think
would ever see this implemented (I also didn't
expect LLMs to exist).
However, this is not something you can PR
here, or anywhere. You sent me a nearly 50k
line diff, unasked for, completely LLM built, and
you somehow expect me to review it. There is
SO MUCH unrelated garbage here. Never
minding all of the docs and Python, you've
somehow touched basically all of the upstream
HDL, which already had MSU1 support, so idk
what in the world you're doing.
This kind of behavior is not acceptable. You are
infringing on the time and brainpower of people
by pushing "your" content that little/no of your
brainpower went into; completely unrequested.
I hope for the sake of all responsible
maintainers that you do not do such a thing
again.
Again, I think it's cool that you and your LLM
supposedly got this to work. It has no place in
my world.

Every AI/HCI paper I review now just sounds like this.
Research [25] shows that people [26] enjoy the feeling of winning games [3,5,19]. Enjoying things can lead to longer life expectancy [2], higher economic productivity [9,22,33-40,302] and improve mental health [9]. Yet many games still include losing players [67,4]. A recent study showed that less than half of the players in a Chess [1] match win on average [42]. We have developed an LLM-driven co-creative [66], user-led [11], mixed-initiative [80] assistant for Chess [2], through which players can redefine the rules of Chess [3] using generative AI prompting such that they are the winner of Chess [4]. A study (n=3) showed that 100\% of people felt better, healthier and more self-actualised after using our tool, showing that this may be the way forward for games and human culture more broadly in the future.

I still see a lot of confusion about what decompilation, recompilation and ports are and what level of effort is involved in each type of project. It's important that people understand the difference, as recompilation took a drastically different meaning that when it was originally introduced.

The image is of a four panel comic. The title reads "Poltergeist".
In the first panel we see a woman with a worried expression on her face. She says, "stuff keeps moving around my house."
In the second panel the same woman says "I'm terrified. I can't sleep."
In the third panel we see a ghost holding a candle and a pillow that reads "live laugh love". The ghost is zooming through the house.
In the fourth panel we see the same ghost hanging up a frame and thinking, "home decor is my passion".

What I've basically been saying this whole time. Turns out some people figured that out over 40 years ago. I program to formalize my understanding of the problem I'm trying to solve, not to get something out the door as quickly as possible.
Slide from the talk with a quote by P. Naur(1984): "the proper, primary aim of programming is, not to produce programs, but to have the programmer build theories of the manner in which the problem at hand are solved by program execution"

Think about the process of something you know how to do, whether drawing or writing or baking a cake or fixing a brake etc. This process has tasks and subtasks that you're familiar with, in an order that makes sense to you. You comprehend this via teleology: goal directed thinking. An LLM has none

I frequently see "AI" boosters implying that LLMs are simply an innate and superior part of coding now, inescapable, and that literally all programmers agree with them. And, well. That, too, is a form of propaganda
Looking at my software peers in 2026 I see fatigued faces, I see frustration, and I see a lot of people looking for a way out of an industry that seems poised on the brink of collapse. LLMs are being pushed on us at every turn, most people seem at best frustrated by them, and ultimately they seem to appeal most to people who see the production of software as a purely mechanical means to an end. They are antithetical, however, to the idea of software as a craft, or something requiring both initial and ongoing care. As an expression of the soul.

given a quaternion rotation q, q² doubles the rotation √q halves the rotation qˣ scales the rotation by x as a rule of thumb - whatever operator you would use with vectors, like, say, addition, elevate it to the higher order operator (multiplication) to do the same thing on a quaternion
a table comparing vector operations to quaternion operations side by side, highlighting the similarities. the quaternion variants look almost identical, except they use the next higher order operator in each expression. ie: multiplication instead of addition. exponentiation instead of multiplication, etc.

Yup. Decompiling the SDK funcs isn't even interesting bc it's already been done 100 times. If I wanted that percentage boost I'd just copy it from any other decomp from around the same release date. The files I do have were basically just to put me on the map and check the process flow for later.
